A few words about Isabel Conway
Isabel Conway is a multi- award winning travel journalist, crowned Ireland’s travel writer of the Year three times since 2012, most recently in 2020 , taking the title in the most hotly contested awards yet held.
She also won the awards long haul category for features on exploring the Canadian Rockies on horseback (Irish Daily Mail) and adventures in former Soviet state Uzbekistan in late January 2020. Isabel is a former winner of the prestigious British Guild of Travel Writers Award for the best European feature and was shortlisted in several categories for Guild awards in more recent years.
Isabel contributes to the travel pages of the Sunday Times, Irish Independent, The Business Post, Irish Examiner, Irish Daily Mail, Irish Sun, Sunday World and other publications in Ireland and the UK, including online. She is a co-founder, with well- known travel journalist-broadcaster Edward Finn, of Ireland’s first consumer orientated online magazine www.traveltimes.ie As a former foreign correspondent based in the Netherlands and also Sweden and Belgium she has written for many international newspapers and magazines, in a career as a news reporter and feature writer spanning three decades. A member of the British Guild of Travel Writers and the National Union of Journalists, Isabel is based in Kinsale, Co Cork.
